The packaging made me like gi joe. Primarily the filecards, I mean without the filecards they have no meaning or personality. That was a huge selling point.

As much as I love our (the U.K) Action Force packaging, after all it's the one I grew up with, I'll freely admit the U.S. packaging is way cooler.. the artwork seems more grown up, makes the figures pop & the file cards are much better.

The Joe vehicle artwork remind me of those fantastic hand painted illustrations Air-fix used on their model kit packaging

Sometimes my brother and I would get a new small vehicle like a motorcycle, or play set like a watch tower so we could get a new mini catalog. Then we would strategically plan who would save for what. Sometimes we both had to have something, but other times he would get a few, and I would get others so we could merge our stuff.

The packaging with the firing weapons and missiles launching were very exciting when we headed down that toy aisle!

Packaging and catalogs helped move the products!
