Hi folks,

The original 9 Action Force figures, trying to piece to complete a nice conditioned loose set was a challenge... the figures themselves are fairly easy, the real task is finding all of the correct accessories:

Australian Jungle Fighter:

British Marine:

Commando:

Desert Rat:

Frogman:

Those are awesome. I have always wished they would released 0-Ring or ME versions of these figueres.

Thanks.
The guys at Palitoy did a wonderful job with these. I personally think they're a much more interesting & visually attractive looking set than the later Red Shadow/ Z Force era stuff.

This was the special offer mail away exclusive figure, I'm fortunate enough to also have the (& rarer) version with the alternate body:

Going from the Palitoy sales catalogues, after the initial 9 carded figures were a success, these 6 figures were added to the range:

2 Para:

Arctic Assault:
Image

Helicopter Pilot:
Image

Image

Naval assault:
Image

Night Patrol:
Image

S.A.S. Frogman:
Image

Despite being mainly re-paints and creative mixing & matching of parts I still like these a lot, the Night Patrol figure's just amazingly cool looking. 8)

And that folks brings to the end of my (and Palitoys) collection of 1982 series Action Force.. 1983 would
see a major change in direction for the brand:

But that's a whole other story....and collection

The closest I can find are those wonderful 1994 commemorative figures..

If the collectors club ever decided to recreate the Night Patrol figure the Para Viper would make an excellent starting point:

Now are these figures considered part of the same line that the Action Force HQ is in?

Hi,

Hard to say really... yes they are part of the Action Force toy range but could be easily considered as not being a part of the Action Force/Red Shadows series. I, myself, choose to treat & display them as a stand alone set of figures & vehicles.

The original 1982 figures were simply sold as pocket sized versions of the most popular 12" Action-man costumes with no story or characterisation, with the 1983 relaunch no official connection was ever made to the first series figures in any file cards or comic stories.. kids at the time would of probably just played with them all together.

The Blood For The Baron website has an excellent history & toy archive for Action Force: http://www.bloodforthebaron.com/info/history/index.html

Hi guys,

Just as I did last year for Star Wars, I'm updating the photo archive of my G.I Joe figure collection..
These figures were released Stateside in 1985, but, we Brit's had to wait until Hasbro relaunched the Action Force brand in 1987:

Hostile Environment
Code Name: Airtight
Image

Mountain Trooper
Code Name: Alpine
Image

Firefighter
Code Name: Barbecue
Image

Missile Specialist
Code Name: Bazooka
Image

Desert Trooper
Code Name: Dusty
Image

Warrant Officer
Code Name: Flint
Image

Infantry
Code Name: Footloose
Image

Covert Opperations:
Code Name: Lady Jaye
Image

Silent Weapons
Code Name: Quick Kick
Image

Sailor
Code Name: Shipwreck
Image

Commando
Code Name: Snake Eyes
Image

Cheers
